Hey, it’s Jensen, and I love weddings on film. There’s nothing that can quite compare to Super 8 film. Trust me, I’ve tried to recreate it with digital and too many editing filters and presets to count, but it just never quite measures up.
Chris and Nathalia’s gorgeous wedding in Huatulco Mexico was all documented on Super 8 film. The film lent itself perfectly to the sunny day and crystal blue waters, and of course, the bright colours they incorporated into their wedding day.
Why I Absolutely Love Super 8 Film
Of all the styles of wedding video I’ve seen, Super 8 is my favourite I’m not just biased because I shoot Super 8, promise). There’s an authenticity about it that’s hard to come by in today’s age of super-polished professional wedding videos. Nothing against the polished-pro-videographer (I love y’all I swear), but receiving a wedding video that feels raw and authentic is truly something special.
Nathalia and Chris received the raw uncut Super 8 footage from not just their wedding day, but the day after session as well. We spent the day after exploring the town at sunrise, and grabbing an iced coffee at the localcafe we had discovered a couple days earlier.
